LAS VEGAS, Jul 27, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

Rent-A-Center, Inc. (NASDAQ/NGS: RCII), today donated furniture and electronics, including three large-screen TVs, six laptops and two gaming consoles to the City Impact Foundation. The donation is tied to a philanthropic initiative dubbed "Random Acts of Caring," launched by Rent-A-Center in 2008.

"With this donation, Rent-A-Center is making a difference in the heart of the inner city of Las Vegas," said City Impact Center Director Vic Caruso.

City Impact Foundation serves Las Vegas and the surrounding area by operating a community center that provides basic needs such as medical care, food assistance and mentoring for low- to moderate- income families. The furniture and electronics will help the center provide a welcoming atmosphere for those wishing to utilize its services.

"Through its Random Acts of Caring initiative, Rent-A-Center is able to give back to the communities it serves," said Xavier Dominicis, vice president of public affairs at Rent-A-Center. "We selected the City Impact Foundation in recognition of this organization's important work to meet the needs and improve the lives of residents in the Las Vegas area."
