Rent-A-Center today donated $20,000 to the Atlanta Community Food Bank. This donation is one of eleven going to food banks across the nation as part of $250,000 worth of Rent-A-Center funding for hunger relief this year.

The donation is in addition to the recent hunger-relief initiative staged across Rent-A-Center's 3,000-plus stores. Dubbed "Soup to Nuts," this campaign took place in September in support of Hunger Action Month. It saw Rent-A-Center stores serve as collection points for cans of soup, jars of peanut butter and other canned goods. The donated food products were delivered to hunger-relief partners such as senior centers, homeless shelters, daycare centers and churches.

"This donation comes at a critical time for us," said Bill Bolling, executive director of the Atlanta Community Food Bank. "With the need for food assistance continuing to grow, it is so important that our level of support from community and corporate groups also grows so we can meet the need. A gift of this size will go a long way in helping us provide food for families and individuals who are struggling to put food on the table."
